Pakistan Independence Day 2022 @ Queensland Parliament

Today in a historic first, Queensland Parliament was lit in Pakistani flag colors of green and white.
This is a testimony to the efforts of the Pakistani Community in Queensland who are marking Pakistan’s 75 years of Independence. It was organized by Pakistan Australian Cultural Association – PACA with the full support and advocacy of Honorable James Martin MP (Stretton) and Queensland Parliament Speaker Curtis Pitt.
Pakistan Australian Cultural Association – PACA held the first ever Pakistan Independence Day Event (2022) at the Premier Hall of the Queensland Parliament. It was well attended by local Pakistani community members, elders, volunteers, and members of QLD parliament.
PACA was honored to welcome Honorable James Martin MP for Stretton, Honorable Amy McMahon MP for South Brisbane, Honorable Peter Russo MP for Toohey, Councilor Angela Owen for Calamvale, Assistant Police Commissioner Cameron Harsley, Mr Jamshed Kashkari from Kashmiri Association, Naveed Kureshi from Urdu Forum, Aunty Peggy Tidyman and other distinguished guests and community members.
